Sorry I haven’t kept this up – very busy fixing stuff, so I run out of time a lot.
It has been a busy week news wise, with the passing of Steve Jobs this week.
I have read a lot of people saying, “so what” to his passing, and I find it very ironic of them posting this from a computer. If you look at your history, without Apple, they may not have been the personal computer. IBM started making their boxes in response to Apple. Even when Steve Wozniak went to HP (who got first refusal on his inventions) they laughed at the thought of computers in the home.
So, to those that scoff at the memorials, a scoff at them.
The best one though was the Westboro Baptist church, who planned to protest his funeral. The ironic part? They tweeted it using their iPhone!!

And, on a more work relate note, I was able to certify for another year. I was fighting a nasty head cold, but I still managed to get achieve 93%. So I am good for another year.

Well not here, but it is available from the App Store.
Apple has decided to go the direct route, so Mac Solutions will not be able to provide a disc for this OS version.
And for those that didn’t notice, time to say so long to the MacBook.
Apple quietly dropped the white MacBook from their lineup, with the announcement of new MacBook Airs today.
And new Mac minis too!
Busy day for Apple.

Maybe. In Barrie? Probably not.
According to press releases, the iPad2 is set to launch on Friday March 25th.
As of today (March 22) I have no information. I have no pricing, and neither does my supplier.
In an article posted this am, Best Buy is poised to sell the new version of the iPad on Friday, along with Apple.
But, here in Barrie, we have no Apple Store and no Best Buy.
As I have no info at this point, I think it is a safe bet that there won’t be any available around here for some time.
I’ll le you know if I hear more.

So, the event has come and gone, and now we have the iPad 2, coming to Canada March 25th (still waiting to see if you can get one from us on that date)
Thinner, now available in black AND white.
Front and back cameras.
iMovie and Garageband will be available for it.
A new cover / stand (not a case, just a cover)
And, the same price.
No iOS 5 info, or any news on MobileMe (as was rumoured) but still a good event.
Nice to see Steve out there talking about it, too.

If you took a look at the Apple Online Store today, you will see that it is currently down.
If you have had a look at the rumour sites, you know that a new iPad is to be announced today.
But, that is all we know.
What else is coming? Who knows.
iOS 4.3? Maybe
The event is taking place today at 10:00am PST (1:00pm EST) so I guess we’ll know soon.

Sgt Pepper taught the band to play…
I kid, of course. I thought it appropriate with the Beatles being available in iTunes now.
But, it was 7 years ago today that I purchased Mac Solutions from the previous owner.
And what a 7 years!
Became a warranty service partner.
Helped expand the Mac’s use in this area.
New location!
Let’s see what the next 7 years brings.

Well, at 10am today, Apple announced what everyone know they were going to do anyway.
The Beatles catalog is now available on iTunes.
Don’t get me wrong. It is great news, but it was spoiled all over the net last night, so it’s not breaking news.
